John McClelland

John is a driven partner and insurance leader. He started his career in commercial insurance and also learned personal insurance early on. He built his knowledge of brokerage management over the years with hands-on experience and through achieving industry designations. These include the Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) and Registered Insurance Broker of Ontario (RIBO) Unrestricted Management designation.
John’s professional mission is to improve the customer experience for insurance. To that end, he has worked on innovation and technology projects such as launching Canada’s first on-demand insurance platform, miCtrl. In 2019 he was accepted the prestigious Lloyd’s Lab insurtech incubator at Lloyd’s of London.
John became an owner of the brokerage in 2021 and partners with his father, Al McClelland. This transition officially began the 3rd generation of the family business, a distinctive move as the industry faces a wave of increasing consolidations and insurer owned brokerages.
In his personal life, John is an avid outdoorsman, photographer, and marathon runner.

Al is the senior partner of our brokerage. He has extensive experience in representing independent businesses and high net worth individuals. With over 40 years’ experience he is a respected member of our industry and community with a reputation for personal service, trust and “customer first” attitude.
Al has served on several community boards, industry advisory boards. He has served as chair of the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame, Director at the Brampton Golf Club, Trustee at St. Bartholomew’s United Church, and a Member of the Brampton Salvation Army Advisory Board. He continues to be an active supporter of amateur sports, a former player, coach, and ongoing supporter of the Brampton Youth Hockey Association (BYHA) and the Brampton Excelsior Lacrosse Club.
A long time Brampton resident who enjoys a game of golf, curling, cycling and time at the cottage with family and friends.

Aside from home and auto insurance, Kelly focuses on taking care of the complex insurance needs of our high net worth clients. She is valued for her significant contribution to the history, growth and stability of the team and the brokerage.
Kelly obtained her Registered Insurance Broker of Ontario (RIBO) certification in 1998 and keeps her knowledge up to date so that she continues to provide her clients with expert personal service.
She enjoys playing hockey as well as coaching kids, gardening, cycling and spending time with family and friends.
